Well done, St. Margaret’s Girls! Carry on your effort to conquer new heights next year!

The Reigning Champions in French Chorale Speech Competition
St. Margaret’s Girls’ College, Hong Kong has once again proven her unbeatable feat as she reigned the 5th Dragages French Chorale Speech Competition.
Learning a foreign language is no easy task. While perfecting it is a challenge, performing with it is a challenge yet taken up to another level. That is why there is enough reason to say that students who take on this quest are to be admired.
Winning for 3 years and again participating for the fourth consecutive year, the senior students from St. Margaret’s Girls’ College, Hong Kong confessed that there was immense pressure keeping up with the expectations and maintaining the legacy. During the time leading to the day, it was a period of continual sacrifices of time as choreography and conceptualization of the speech were to be discussed and created. Learning the passage with the correct pronunciation of the French language was definitely an additional struggle. Though the journey was in no way a smooth one, intense practice, minor misunderstandings and lectures from the teacher… these hurdles students just overcame to strive for the best. When they stood on the stage, they performed with such grace and elegance that they undoubtedly nailed it and captivated the audience.
It was undeniably a rewarding moment for these students to hear that their school has once more made it to the top. What made it more special was that it was a double win as both Senior Form group and Junior Form group were hailed champions in their respective divisions.
4 years of consecutive wins (Senior Form group) was not easy but with perseverance and dedication, nothing is impossible. This is an experience that these students will keep in mind and reflect on in their future endeavours.
